On our way back from Val d’Isère to Genève, we visited Isabelle’s sister Martine and her wife Catherine in Thonon les Bains. It is located on the shore of Lake Geneva in Haute-Savoie, near the Alps. It is renowned for its thermal spa treatments
On our way to diner at Le Jolla (located in Margencel near Thonon-les-Bains) on the shore of Lake Geneva It specializes in the local popular dishes like perch fillets. A very hot day, lots of people sunbathing and swimming in the lake.
The following day, they took us to Yvoire, a beautiful 700-year-old medieval fishing village on the French shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) Classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France,"
In Yvoire, we visited the amazing Garden of Five Senses. It features over 1,500 plants designed for sensory engagement—smell, touch, taste, sight, and sound.
